So you want to write. Volume 3-0406
People have told me that they want to write a book but don't know how to get started. They are always surprised by my advice and how easy it sounds.
Just write and don't stop! It really is that easy. Keep going forward and don't look back. Looking back at what you wrote is the kiss of death. You'll have time to do that on your second rewrite and third rewrite. Judging your words before you are finished with the first draft truly is the worst thing you could do. Don't worry about being perfect or holes in your story on the first draft. You can fix it on the second and third draft.
At some point during your writing you will begin thinking that your story is no good and that you should just quit. Don't give in, keep going forward. Try to write everyday, keep the topic fresh in your head, touch your story everyday even if only for a few minutes.
